I'm standing with an extra Elite Regiment code and nothing to do with it, so why not make a contest out of it. So here's the rules you comment this article, the comment must include a sentence with the word "Hulabanooza" aswell should you leave your nickname on Steam. After 7-14 Days (Depending on number of participants) I will write down all the participant names on small strips of paper mix them and pick a random one and contact you on steam, aswell will I post a picture of the winners paper strip when the contest is over.

Napoleon: Total War Elite Regiment contains following

  • 5e Regiment de Hussards (France)
  • Pavlograd Hussars (Russia)
  • 8th Life Regiment (Prussia)
  • 47th (Czech) Regiment (Austria)
  • 88th Foot "Connaught Rangers" (Great Britain)

Good luck!

Bounty Arms, an old school side scroller.

Developer: Open-Reset
Publisher: N/A
Release Date: TBA

Bounty arms is a side scroller running on UE3 (Unreal Engine 3) the goal is getting from one point of the map to another facing obstacles and enemies, having to use your tools clever.

The graphical style is very similar to Little Big Planet, taking good use of the blur effect afterall it's actually quite impressive.

In the demo version which has been released (Download link at the end of the article) you will be able to play as "Goober". Goober is armed with an abnormous pair of scissors, a weapon that fires a boxing glove on a stick then returns back, and then a bomb gun. so far the enemies is flying robots, coming in swarms firing green plasma cannons at you, the only way to eliminate those is using the bomb gun. Next is monkey sized robots that usually comes in pairs of two or three, most effective against those will be the boxing glove launcher, however you can use the bomb gun to blow them up aswell.
The obstacles are endless, ranging from Lava with scrap metal to moving mechanical arms and again to spinning cogwheels.

So far Bounty Arms looks very promising and is to be in a price range near 15-20$

DRM? No Thanks!

When someone mentions DRM nowadays you should think of Ubisoft and specificly Assassin's Creed 2.

Their new DRM is called "Online Services Platform" it requires you to be online to play the game, however unlike steam there just is no offline mode that means if the server goes down or you loose connection for a moment all of your unsaved progress will be lost and you won't be able to play.

It's not really logic to put a DRM which requires you to be online 24/7 to play when it's a singleplayer game.

Also Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory had a DRM called "Starforce" It was very effective, actually the most effective of all DRM's. It took over a year before pirates had a cracked version of the game. But of course it had a big fat price tag on it, it required a driver to run in the background in order to play the game, the driver sucked up alot of power and caused signifcant perfomance losses.

Try thinking back on spore, EA had a DRM in the start that required the game to be activated every 10th day in order to play. It was met with rage from just about all sides and it was swiftly changed. Their new plan was having 3 activations per CD-Key, if you passed those 3 you would have to call the customer support to get the activations reset. It all ended up with spore becoming the most pirated game of 2008.

So a general sum up for this short article about DRM, it have not done much else than delaying the pirated versions by a week or two while causing impact to players, I say no, what do you?
